Spin, little guardian of peace
And shatter inertia's bones
Your gift must be some kind of curse, I think
Careening through spaces unknown
And I must be some kind of madman
Like a fish that fries in a bad pan
I could never tell what you thought of my plan
Were they tears of sadness or pride then
When there was no wind I would think of you
Stillness blew my mind into little green smithereens
When the wind would blow I’d still think of you
Mysteries unfolded I never knew, never knew
Grin, little lover of voids
To terrify future's collapse
Help me to reinforce home from afar
And help my words fill in the gaps
Soldiers in places away
Have so many battles to fight
Wiping the tears from the sadness of eyes
With sabres that shine in the light
And I must be some kind of madman
Like a fish that fries in a bad pan
I could never tell what you thought of my plan
Were they tears of sadness or pride then
When there was no wind I would think of you
Stillness blew my mind into little green smithereens
When the wind would blow I’d still think of you
Mysteries unfolded I never knew, never knew
And The Hummingbird flaps its wings
To cross the coldest space and time
And each beat has hopes to bring
A message from warrior to wife
Morse was right about one thing
Dots and lines can hold anything
But here’s the thing about far off radio
Dancing fingers that tell you hello
Sending words through an engine’s rumble
Loud to echo a captain’s mumble
Like the spell of a stranger danger
Cast by weeping, the mind’s derranger
Distant discourse of vast emotion
One direction through locomotion misses you
As time slows down
A second passes every year
I fear I’ll drown
Within the thickness of the clear
And I must be some kind of madman
Like a fish that fries in a bad pan
I could never tell what you thought of my plan
Were they tears of sadness or pride then
When there was no wind I would think of you
Stillness blew my mind into little green smithereens
When the wind would blow I’d still think of you
Mysteries unfolded I never knew, never knew

Really impressed with this album and the Days Between Stations' other material. The Billy Sherwood influence is clear on this record, which I enjoy, While not as complex as their earlier albums, DBS are able to write beautiful modern compositions with one eye on the past paying homage to prog masters of yesterday.
