We used to call it "Frankensong" because it's based around 3 (apparently) unrelated riffs Darren came up with. Also because as we stitched the parts together everyone had at least one messed up idea that ended up going into the final version, which made it a very... shall we say, eclectic.
lyrics
Where do I stand in the astral scheme of things?
I am no celestial body and heaven won't give me wings
My mind's telescope only works through introspection
On the outside lookin' in, lookin' out, lookin' in
I am buried so deep within myself
Will you be the one to dig me out?
Even all the sights and sounds of new places
Refuse to banish the doubts my mind it chases
Do you even remember the last time you could smile?
Maybe you do, it's just that you haven't in a while
Still, I do not believe all is in bad fortune
On the outside lookin' in, lookin' out and lookin' in again
But I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
I am buried so deep within myself
Will you be the one to dig me out?
I am buried so far down. Please dig me out
And save me from myself
If I dig up from the bottom
What will I find?
I would rather treasure than bones
Treasure than bones
Golden sun and a shiny silver moon
Fills my chest until the top overflows
If I dig up from the bottom what will I find?
I would rather treasure than bones
But I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
No I can't see far from inside my heart
I am buried so deep within myself
Will you be the one to dig me out?
I am buried so far down. Please dig me out
And save me from myself
